22ND - 24TH MAY 2020

CANCELLED

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

It is with heavy heart that we must announce the cancellation of Cobh Ukulele Festival 2020.

Just hours ago, we were optimistic that we would weather the storm and continue with our plans, but with events surrounding Coronavirus (COVID-19) developing rapidly, along with the obvious need for urgent steps to contain it’s spread, we have had to make this very tough decision.

One of the key messages from the Taoiseach’s address earlier today (March 17th) was that the current restrictions are likely to continue beyond March 29th and into the summer, so we felt we had no option but to make this decision and share it with you sooner rather than later.

It is too early for us to assess if we may be able to reschedule the festival for some time later in 2020, but we remain optimistic. We believe that music is the healing force of the universe, so we urge you to stay healthy and do whatever you can to help one another and to make this a better world.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and hope you understand that this is due to circumstances unforeseen and way beyond our control. We thank you all in advance for your support in this decision and look forward to welcoming you all to Cobh at another time.

For anyone who had made a reservation to stay at the Commodore Hotel Cobh for our Festival 2020, we spoke with their reservation manager Jessica today.
As a result of COVID -19 the hotel closed for business from 5pm today . Jessica wanted to assure you all that the hotel will be in contact with everyone who has a reservation for 22/24th May 2029 in due course.
We are so disappointed here in Cobh , but needs must.
Keep up the uke tunes folks and stay safe and well.
Best wishes from Festival HQ.
